Entrepreneurship- is it for me?
Are you interested in starting your own company? Do you think it’s
time for you to do your own thing? What is holding you back?
Join Yvonne Campos, a successful entrepreneur who founded three
companies and has seen entrepreneurship from the inside out. She
started her first company in 1975, a qualitative research consultancy,
then in1983 she founded Campos Market Research, Inc. a full service
research and strategy company, and in 2016 she founded Next Act
Fund , an Angel Investment Fund.
What has she learned along the way? How has entrepreneurship
evolved? If she were someone like you starting a company today, what
would she do differently?
(Purpose of this webinar is to invite members and non-members so

100th Anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment
To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right
to vote on August 18, the branch is asking members to investigate this historic event. On Monday,
July 6, PBS begins a series on “The Vote.” For additional summer study, there are more events
found in the Calendar section of this newsletter.
Then on Friday, August 21, at 3:00 pm, we will have a “Women Suffrage Zoom Event” to
highlight women and events that are significant to us. The Zoom link will be sent to all members
earlier that week.
Thankful for our past recognitions:

Upcoming celebrations:
The International Day of Families, annually held on May 15, celebrates the importance of families and the work started during the International Year of Families.
Background
The year 1994 was proclaimed as the International Year of Families by the United Nations. This was a response to changing social and economic structures, which have affected and still affect the structure and stability of family units in many regions of the globe. The International Day of Families, on May 15, is an occasion to reflect on the work started during 1994 and to celebrate the importance of families, people, societies and cultures around the world. It has been held every year since 1995.

Support us through AAUW Fund
You can…
Create change,
Advance equity,
Empower women and girls
With a single donation to AAUW Fund.
One AAUW. One Mission. One Fund.
The AAUW Fund advances AAUW’s mission by sustaining all our programs and activities. Your unrestricted gift to the AAUW Fund helps incubate and disseminate programs that
- above all, advance equity for women and girls
- strengthen AAUW’s role in the global community
- respond to and eradicate the persistent challenges facing women and girls
- leverage new opportunities and attract new audiences to our mission.
In short, the programs listed here get results for women and girls. And that’s AAUW’s top priority, now and in the future.
Gifts to the AAUW Fund are dispersed as needed to impactful projects that advance the mission of AAUW. Your undesignated donation will be used to support worthy programs.
It is not necessary to be a member to contribute to the AAUW Fund; a tax-deductible gift of any amount will help this vital work. In 2017, California donors contributed $1,336,746.56 to the national AAUW Fund to benefit AAUW projects.
Join that crusading group and help provide opportunities for women. Your contribution will be well used for programs that matter.
